Department of Visual Arts and Design
The Department of Visual Arts and Design has entered its 21st year since its establishment. The department is dedicated to cultivating talent in the fields of artistic creation, art theory, art education, and arts administration, with a particular focus on training visual arts educators for elementary and secondary schools. In recent years, while continuing to uphold its strong foundation in traditional aesthetics—particularly in oil painting, ink painting, and printmaking—the department has also expanded its efforts in visual design, animation, and mixed media. These developments aim to enrich students’ learning experiences and support a more professional curriculum structure and content, in response to contemporary trends.
